I don't know Lane Kenworthy's work, but his blog, "Consider the Evidence", looks interesting. He describes himself as "a social scientist who studies causes and consequences of poverty, inequality, employment, mobility, economic growth, and social policy. [He] focus[es] mainly on the United States and other affluent countries."
