Our fearless leader in the news

All in all it's good for my College for our president to be interviewed on CBS News, and she's absolutely right that the US News rankings are a farce (my words, not hers). However, seeing as we're clinging to dear life at a ranking of around 45, and slipping to 51 would put us in the "second tier," it would be potentially suicidal for us to actually withdraw participation. Enrollments at Gettysburg jumped markedly when we cracked the 50 barrier (by 30 percent or so, I believe), so there's a good chance we could see a comparable decline if we fell out. We simply have too much at risk. Fortunately, I haven't heard anyone suggest that we withhold our participation at this point. But that puts us in kind of an awkward position, public relations-wise, doesn't it? Our president takes a highly visible position against the US News rankings, yet our institution continues to fill out the survey?
